About Geocaching
Geocaching is a treasure hunt for the digital age where people look for hidden ‘caches’, of objects using GPS devices. It can also be described as a series of hide-and-seek games and an exciting outdoor adventure for the whole family. All you need is a handheld GPS (or suitable mobile phone with the geocaching app) and a sense of fun.
Caches usually consist of a waterproof container (which can vary in size from not much larger than the end of your little finger to large containers) and a logbook to record your visit. Depending on the size of the cache, it might also contain some trinkets such as foreign currency, keychains, or booklets. Although caches can be hidden, they are not buried, and hints are usually given as where to find them.

What We Do
Our meetings in March and October usually take place at the Old Manor in Bracknell (with its cheap unlimited tea, coffee & hot chocolate). In March we discuss what we'd like to do going forward and in October look back on the year and think about what we might want to do the following year. We also swap experiences and help each other with some of the more obscure Geocache types.
For the other meetings, we go to a different location each time & have a go at looking for different types of Geocache, eg Traditional, Multi, Puzzle and AdventureLabs.
The Geocaching App is free to download, although - as explained above - you can only see all the Geocaches by becoming a Premium Member. We use the BFu3a Premium Membership when we go out together looking for caches - more than one person can be logged on our username at any one time.
